Ying Tan - Managing Director - The Buy to Let Business
Ying is a qualified accountant with a background in investment banking. He has worked for UBS, Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs. A successful entrepreneur, he is the director and founder of The Buy to Let Business / Buy to Let Club. He is dedicated to combining unusually high levels of customer service and understanding, with building satisfying and rewarding careers for the people he works with.

Over the last fifteen years, he has built a substantial property portfolio and currently holds properties in both central London and the Home Counties. Ying has also conducted training and seminar courses sharing his wealth of knowledge contributing towards the success of numerous property entrepreneurs and investors.

Charles Haresnape - Managing Director - Aldermore Bank
Charles has over 30 years lending experience, primarily within the Residential Mortgage industry as a lender, a broker and within estate agency financial services. Charles joined Aldermore from one of the UK’s largest estate agency groups, Connells, where he was Group Mortgage Services Director.

Prior to joining Connells, Charles was responsible for intermediary mortgage lending at both NatWest and RBS, plus the branch mortgage sales force within NatWest. He has worked for a number of other household names in the banking and building society sectors, including Nationwide and HBOS.

Charles is an Associate of the Chartered Institution of Bankers and a holder for CeMAP.

Currently Chairman of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA) and an Executive Committee member of CML, having previously been deputy Chairman.

Matthew Wyles - Senior Advisor - Castle Trust Capital plc
Matthew spent the first 20 years of his career in insurance, first in underwriting and then as an Executive Director in the Global Reinsurance Division at Willis plc.

After eight years as a main board director of the Portman Building Society, he joined the board of Nationwide in 2007. From early 2009 to 2013 he was served as Group Executive Director, Distribution responsible for the branch network, call centres, internet banking and regulated & intermediary distribution.

Matthew was chairman of the Council of Mortgage Lenders for two years in 2009 and 2010.

In May 2013 Matthew was appointed by the Board of Castle Trust as a Senior Advisor. Since Matthew’s appointment Castle Trust’s proposition has developed rapidly to encompass buy to let, high net worth and syndicated property finance.

Stephen Johnson - Managing Director, Commercial Mortgages - Shawbrook Bank
Stephen Johnson is Managing Director of Shawbrook Bank’s commercial mortgage business, and one of the founding management team behind the creation of the Bank in 2011.

Shawbrook is a specialist challenger bank that has grown from start up to a £2.5bn balance sheet in three short years. Stephen was also one of the founding management team behind Commercial First, a business that became the UK’s leading specialist commercial mortgage lender.

Stephen is a qualified chartered accountant who has spent the past 15 years successfully building specialist lending businesses, and is recognised as a key figure in the UK intermediary and investor mortgage market.

Bob Young - CEO, Fleet Mortgages
Bob has been in Financial Services in a variety of roles spanning 40 years, and has experience as both an intermediary and as a lender.

In the recent past Bob was responsible for building a small centralised mortgage lender into a UK top twenty award winning mortgage lender with a portfolio that weathered the worse of the recent recession - no mean feat. His mantra is &lsquoany fool can lend money badly forgetting that turnover is vanity, profit is sanity.&rsquo

Bob is also a highly qualified trainer and has in previous careers run both ‘in-house’ and public sales and management training programmes.
